Books

These are the first few books I would read to both get ready to be a camp director and understand how the conversation camp directors are having is shaped. I tried to keep the list short. There are of course an endless supply of great books. I would also keep an eye on who the keynote speakers are at the ACA National and ACA Tristate conferences are and read their books or watch their Youtube videos.

Nonviolent Communication by Marshall Rosenberg

Websites

There are a million websites dedicated to helping camp directors. They are all great, but these two have been around a long time and have built the foundation for how most camp directors think about camp. Its especially interesting to find different aspects of Gary and Randy's writings where they disagree.

Videos

5 videos to start your Youtube rabbit hole. I'll be honest a lot of times I watch hours of an author's Youtube videos instead of reading their books. Youtube is free and fast.
